SELT CENTRAL

The skills. The language. The techniques.

Private online classes for your choice of Secure English Language Test.

A UK Home Office-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) is required for visa applications for work, migration, or to join a family member in the United Kingdom. Depending on your purpose, visas require either a two-skill (Speaking & Listening), or a four-skill (Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking) English test.

  • There are four exam providers available outside the UK: LanguageCert, Pearson, PSI, and UKVI IELTS.

  • There are four exam providers available within the UK: LanguageCert, Pearson, Trinity, and UKVI IELTS.

Each provider offers an alternative SELT test and one test may be more suitable to your strengths and weaknesses than another. Because passing the test is essential to your visa application as proof of English ability, choosing the right test can be a confusing and stressful decision to make.

SELT Central teachers are trained exam instructors and will help you decide on the most suitable exam and preparatory course for you to take based on your visa criteria and level of English. Most of the teachers have experienced first-hand the immigration and SELT process with family members, so they know what to expect.

Classes are private* and are tailored to your strengths and weaknesses. Your teacher will guide you through the different elements of your chosen test and advise you on what the examiners are looking for with each element.
You will take regular tests to familiarise yourself with the test process and to help you gain confidence for your test day.
